The Ruins of Fort Eusef
« on: February 18, 2010, 05:21:17 pm »
Fort Eusef was once a proud town enclosed in a wooden fort, just due south of Full Moon Bay. It was originally a military fort for a platoon of Earth Kingdom Soldiers, but in it's immense safety, the families of the soldiers, and eventually other immigrants, moved in, creating a small town within the walls. The platoon was still active, until late in the War when it was taken by Firebending soldiers. During the eclipse, the Fort was taken back by all the Earthbenders who submitted to Fire Nation Rule and helped the soldiers, in an effort to live until they could attack. In the fin al battle of the war, during Sozin's Comet's Pass, the soldiers returned and burnt the City to cinders.

THe only survivors were a small group of young boys who were spending the summer in the desert to learn advanced Sandbending from the tribes, who were more than eager to oblige once the kids proved they could drive a Sand Sailor. When they saw the smoke, they quickly returned home, to find a pile of cinders.

Athens returned to the site of the old fort. He kneeled at the wooden monument he and his friends made for the many, many dead people who died in the great fire. He said a quick prayer for them to the Fort's patron spirit, Iki Suro, and his eyes began to well up with tears.

Athens dusted off his knees and began to walk away. Something was trying to stop him for leaving, though. No, Someone Athens thought. Whats going on? He thought very casually as his knees forcefully hit the ground once again. He began to snap out of it when the spell completely ended. WHAT THE- Athens though, as well as another word. The vibrations he had apparently made by slamming into the ground were recognizable by any good Earthbender, even without any Seismic Sense. THE MAIN BARRACK CHAMBER!

Athens turned around as excited as ever. "It really is OK!" He expressed like a child on Christmas morning, ready to open a present wrapped so poorly that only a true dope couldn't make out the tricycle within. "I THINK I FEEL THE MAIN BARRACK CHAMBER!"

"Part of the town is still alive!" Athens said, jumping into the Earth as if it were Water, leaving behind no hole in the floor.

The twosome entered the Chamber, and Athens was once again in tears. This was no longer the Main Military Chamber. Some Earthbenders must have survived, and turned this into the Burial Grounds.

Athens didn't take notice to the zombie. He was once again happy upon noticing that old Fort Battle Strategy Books were still intact. He grabbed Battle Formations for Earthbenders and Breaking the Front Line, two books written by the fort's top general. He secured them in his bag, and began to shift through the pages on a book about the battle of which Fort Eusef was retaken by the Earthbenders.

Zay also grabbed a few copies of books. "Might need these later." he stored the books in his backpack and went looking for more.

Athens put the book on the fort's history in his pack. "I suppose we should keep looking. Maybe there are things besides the books that we can use. I bet the Ten Tories' Armor are down here." Athens said, thinking back to the old days when the entire town was silently united against the Fire Nation Platoon.

Zay earth bended some armor out of the ground. "A breastplate. It looks pretty old. Maybe we should go to a wise man and ask how old." [[wise man=gm=firelord lol]]
